LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN - DAY 1

07th January, 2013

Orlebar Brown

After the amazing success obtained by the James Bond’s swimwear in Skyfall (check our post on James Bond’s fashion secrets on our blog), Orlebar Brwon comes back with a BOOM!!

What a better way to start the London Collections: Men than going to a Miami inspired and warm collection; where the swimwear is still the main character, even though few new items such as fancy T-shirts, trousers and some cool jackets make their debut. Nice colours, nice light-weight outerwear, nothing tacky: it really looks like a typical Winter season in Miami, with clothes to be worn between a show at the Miami Art Basel and a cocktail at the Railegh Hotel.

You can see this brand is moving forward steadily and we will hear more and more about it in the coming months.

And let us be proud to be one of the first blogs to discover its full potential.

Hentsch Man

It can seem difficult to pronounce...

But it is not. And actually, Miss Hentsch proves again to be a strong designer focused on men's tailoring and in mixing up very traditional elements with strong contemporary features (please note the skinny tattooed models wearing traditional patterned in check jackets and trousers).

...and to end the day... Here comes David Gandy

TopMan

TopMan is back.

Not a strong collection like the one from SS13, but still interesting.

Winter white and glossy orange were the main colours.

Three looks we loved... A fourth one had a very nice jumper and the last two we picked up were a bit far from reality check.

Still, it was a commercially focused collection, as you would definitively expect from TopMan.

Here you go, our selection...

Richard Nicholl

Lovely look the one here on the right.

All other looks were a bit of a repetition of other themes seen in the last couple of season in other designers' fashion shows (just to name a couple, Burberry and Armani).

And some other looks, like the last three here below, were a bit strange.
